Ken,
one of my biggest disappointments was when I sat on a
883 Sportster Custom some months ago. No comfortable position#
to sit on, the seat was as hard as a wooden bench and the whole
feeling on the bike was lousy.
They don´t tell you about horsepower because Harleys are hopelessly
underpowered, their weight/power-ratio is poor, and anybody just
looking at the plain technical facts wouldn´t buy one.
I have to say, the Savage is much more fun to ride, as long as you
don´t need a "big" bike with a great name to impress your neigbours
(and I guess we`re both to old for this kind of nonsense).
If you`re interested in a real big cruiser, have a look at the new
Moto Guzzi California Jackal
http://www.moto-guzzi.com/cj.htm
It´s a real cruiser for less than half the price of a Fat Boy.
Armand

p.s.: btw, I know what it´s about to bring kids through school, I have three of `em.
